Global Health & Safety Week

As essential as the physical elements of health and safety, during this week’s Global Health & Safety week, MSK teams at two of our key projects received Mental Health Awareness talks from South East London Mind. A huge thank you to them for providing these sessions and giving such important advice and support.

Global Health & Safety Week

More great activity for Global Health & Safety Week, important team talks on site covering sun safety and hot weather working. The team talked through; keeping hydrated, having adequate rest breaks in hot conditions, rotating operatives and suncream usage. All great advice for the coming summer months, they we are all treated to ice creams too!

Site Set Up Highlight

Following initial meetings to discuss and plan layouts, the MSK Logistics Team have completed site set up at our project near Bond Street which included: • H&S folder/documents in place • Protection of windows, toilets, and lift lobbies • Safe route from the entrance of site to the construction floors • Setting up exclusion zones • Setting up the site offices/welfare areas • Emergency signage • Site information boards All MSK projects vary in terms of requirements, available space, and operations for work areas, therefore planning and co-ordinating effective arrangements from the outset is essential to the smooth startup of a project .

Material Reuse

The MSK Team are making great progress on our recently awarded strip-out project in Canary Wharf. The project will see the transition of the 12-floor, 638,000 sq. ft. office space go from CAT B to Shell and Core. Emphasising reuse over recycling, MSK have successfully repurposed the following items to date, for reuse back within the industry together with donations to charitable organisations: · 9 Glass Whiteboards · 50 Desks and Pedestals · 210 Chairs · 15,552 Raised Access Floor Tiles · 24,000 Carpet Tiles
